Here is a small sample of the poetry in my book "Poetic Heart" which will be available for sale shortly on the store page of the site click here

Conquered This Hill

It was a hard battle
With many ups and downs
My soul was weary
And my hope homeward bound
I thought I couldn’t take it
But I knew I could make it
I walked onward
And did not forsake it
My mission was simple
To be the best
To live my dreams
And pass the test
To inspire and innovate
Teach and necessitate
Each man to earn his place in the sun
To make a difference
And have a little fun
I had many foes
And many friends
And when I think about it
At this journey’s end
I fought a good fight
And I actually won it
No one thought
I could have done it
But heaven knew
I was good enough to
Accomplish this goal
And feed the fold
Show compassion to the poor
Mercy to the weak
Lift up the downtrodden
And bless the meek
In all my travails
The ups and downs
I climbed up the hill
And stood my ground
And when all thought it was over
And stood still
I conquered this hill

Destined

He walked into her life
With his strong eyes and warm smile
Taking her back to the days she was a child
He reminded her of a lazy summer day in her childhood
Where all was right with the world
And she was still a girl
There was a kindness and love about him
That she hadn’t known
Yet it was familiar to her
As time had shown
It was like they were destined to meet
And he would sweep her off her feet
He’d worn his best for her
And she’d worn her best for him
It was a tumultuous time in their lives
Where the light had grown dim
But they both made the effort
To put their best foot forward for the other
She loved him like no other
She had her problems
And he had his
But in that one moment
They were like kids
Captivated and carefree
In love and happy
They were together as friends
And destined loves
And that was all they were thinking of
