February 28, 2006 Hello all, what's up. I'm here writing I spent most of this month writing (working on two books and writing music and screenplays). I went to a funeral on Sunday. Remember the lady I wrote about in the review for Diary Of A Mad Black Woman last year, my friend's mom, she passed away (speaking of that, by the way, congrats to Tyler Perry on "Madea's Family Reunion" coming in at #1 at the Box Office this weekend. While I do like you, I'm not a fan of Lions Gate - but I'm still happy for you anyway). My friend's mom lived a long life. She was almost 90. A lot of people came to the funeral and it was very moving. When I came home I was still sad, though. Funerals always leave me feeling drained. Our friend and her family, some very nice people, were understandably heartbroken. I got to meet the other half of her family, who flew in from England, Orlando, Florida and Buffalo, New York. It turns out, the English part of her family lives near to some of the English part of my family. They really are a great family. God bless them. I found out yesterday that my little sister Trudi had the fifth highest score in all of Jamaica on the Spanish portion of the Jamaican/U.K. equivalent of the SAT's. Her friend Giselle, a Cuban diplomat's daughter, came in at #1. Congrats to Trudi and her friend Giselle. You go Trudi, it took a Cuban to beat you at Spanish (LOL - just kidding). Now you can tell me what is being said on the Spanish channels in Miami that I insist on watching, though I don't understand everything. ARTIST OF THE WEEK
The artist of the week is Lisa McClendon. Her latest is titled "Lisa McClendon Live From The House Of Blues." To visit her web site please go to http://www.lisamcclendon.com
