December 31, 2006

Hey guys. Happy end of the year to you. I'm here, doing well. A little tired, but I'm going out for New Years. I'm gonna go have dinner with my family and watch the fireworks display.

Worked a lot as usual this month. From the 12th to the 15th I was in Jamaica on business and saw my family as well. They're doing fine. I helped my sister with some work she had to do. She is growing more beautiful each time I see her. She's got the cutest new haircut. She looks so adorable. It's a shoulder length bob.

Then I came back to Miami. I put up my best Christmas light display this year. Each year I try to do a little more. Wasn't a whole lot, but it was cute. The tree was also very festive as well.

Mommy was complaining, though, because I bought a huge fake tree. She likes real ones, and while they are nice, I'm the one that gets stuck trying to bore holes in the trunk, trying to get it to stand up in that...stand. Ornaments don't hang from them that easily either. Then there's the shedding. And the waiting to get one. With the fake one, I can put it up in the last week of November.

I had the best Christmas holidays ever. We had dinner at the house for 15 people. We exchanged gifts, had dinner, watched movies and made fun of each other and the people we know. So yea, it was fun. I gave and got some great gifts as well. My godbrother stayed with us for a few days too.

Christmas Eve, we went to my friend's house, the chef, for dinner and a house warming. She bought this great new house. There were about 60 people there for the occasion. She had a gifted preacher say a blessing. We all had a great night just laughing and talking after dinner.

The day after Christmas we went to the mall and couldn't find parking for a bit. I've never seen that mall so crowded.

A few days ago we went out for the evening with my friend and her little year and a half old niece Niya. Little Niya is a little comedian. She is so expressive and has a hilarious little laugh. First we went shopping. We were saying hi to her as she was waking up and she is smiling back at us, still sleepy, with her eyes closed, which made us laugh.

I bought her a little teddy bear in the bookstore and she hugged and kissed him. It was so cute. Then we went to Pollo Tropical (A Spanish restaurant in Miami) and she enjoyed the chicken big time. She's just getting her teeth and girlfriend is making good use of them. That is a happy little baby.

She mimics everything around her. When her great-grandmother gets up from a chair, she'll make a little grunt and now the baby thinks that when she gets up from a chair she too is supposed to grunt as well. It's like a 50 year old little baby (LOL).

One thing though with the baby that is quite amusing. She watches Chinese movies (karate) on TV with her family and when she speaks, it sounds like she's speaking Chinese. I'm not kidding. We've noticed for a few months now. Only problem is, the baby is black. Hey, nothing wrong with being multi-cultural. She's black, eats Cuban food and sounds like she is speaking Chinese. You go girl.

A funny habit she has that my friend is trying to break her out of is throwing her pacifier everywhere and laughing when she does this. She'll throw it out the window, the car ect (LOL). My friend jokingly said to her, "You need a job. Those pacifiers cost $4."
