December 24, 2005

Merry Christmas! - I’m having a great Christmas. I’m really enjoying my holiday. I decorated the garden and the front of the house with lights and  put up a very festive tree with a little nativity under it. I bought gifts and wrapped a few of them. I'm gonna finish wrapping the rest of them later tonight while I watch TV.

Watched several DVDs with my family over the last week. You know, that quality time stuff people chirp about all the time.

I’ve been listening to Christmas music as well. Dusted off the old Christmas CDs.

Happy birthday to my godbrother's mom, Michelle. She says she is "29 and holding." She's been 29 for a few years now. You know, lying is a sin (LOL).

Get well soon to my godbrother. He just had elective knee surgery (I read somewhere that Shaq had a similar problem with his knees). My godbrother takes his athletics seriously and decided to have the surgery. He's a brave 16 year old.

He's really alert too - at the hospital, after giving him the anesthetic, they told him to count to 10 (before it knocks you out). Uh, my godbrother counted alright, "1..."

He said the next thing he remembers is waking up in the hospital room after the surgery. You go boy! You made it to 1!

He said coming out of the anesthesia was strange. He said he woke up shaking. He asked the nurse, "is it supposed to be like this?" and she told him "yes."

Thank God the surgery went well. He is recovering now. Probably really bored sitting at home all day, though. However, he is coming by tomorrow with his mom and several others for Christmas dinner.

SITE UPDATES:

I've updated the lawsuit page. To read it please click the following link: www.aishamusic.com/lawsuit_main.htm

I will post a new Sound Off Column in a few days (God willing). I wrote it several days ago, but I have to proof read it first after I finish up a few other things I have to do...and there still will be typo's that I won't catch til the next Column, but such is the life of an indie writer. Hey, be glad I don't punctuate all my sentences with the word like.

I've been making changes to the site, gearing up for the New Year (God willing). The third and final edition of the album will be released in a couple months with one more song and a new package.

IN CLOSING

"Christmas and Reconciliation"

One of my friends and one of his family members aren't speaking to each other much anymore. I keep wanting him and his family member to renew the friendship they had and I’m hoping this Christmas they will, as you can tell it’s hurting him, though he won't say it.

Then a few days ago I read about a singer who isn’t speaking to one of her relatives, who at the beginning of her career, said singer was pretty close to. I thought it was sad, because you could see that they were very tight as a family.

Therefore, I decided to write about this for the families and friends who don’t speak to each other anymore:

Let this season that celebrates the birth of Jesus, be a season of reconciliation in His love. Some aren’t speaking to people they were close to and life is too short for that.

Life is funny. You see today and you might not see tomorrow. So, make a peaceable effort in the Spirit of God’s love to forgive old hurts and stop being angry at each other.

To that spouse cheating on your spouse and family - you keep doing that and your family might be torn apart by next Christmas. Stop it and appreciate what you have. Stop destroying your family. No one is worth that.

To that person who feels no one loves them this holiday, take heart, God will always love you. He made you and cares about you deeply.

To the world - there have been a lot of weather disasters all over the world this year. A lot of rough times, but by the Grace of God we survived.

Lastly, for the record, there is no alcohol in my eggnog. I wrote this whole soppy segment completely sober, as I am never drunk. A little goofy sometimes, but that comes naturally to me. Yes, it's a gift, I know.

I totally mean what I wrote. Reconcile and have a Merry Christmas!

ARTIST OF THE WEEK

The artist of the week is CeCe Winans. Her current album is titled "Purified." This is a good CD. Very nice. The ballads "You Will" and "All That I Need" are very pretty. To visit her web site please click the following link: www.cecewinans.com
