Christmas Eve Poem 2007
It was the night before Christmas
and all through the house
not a creature was stirring
not even a louse
of a Hollywood exec
many ran for cover
and hit the deck
it was a year in Hollywood
that things went askew
writers stopped working
demanding their due
and TV began to look like
deja vu
more reruns
than anyone would like
the entertainment industry
took a hike
because Hollywood's writers
went on strike
TV sets began repeating
more than spicy food
but not before young celebrities
did something rude
several stars
self-destructed
all while their underwear
got abducted
rehab became
a revolving door
for anyone that wanted
to score headlines galore
they only go
when the publicists bugs
Lindsay Lohan went to rehab
to pick up some drugs
it was also the year
Paris Hilton got locked up in the pen
too bad she didn't do
5 to 10
for armed stupidity
and aggravated vapidity
how can one person
be so twity
Keifer Sutherland spent the holidays
sitting in jail
because the judge refused
to give Jack Bauer bail
do you think after all
these trials and tribulations
these stars thanked God
for their life's station
that enabled them the chance
to work at a trade
where they are overcompensated
and overpaid
and that they have
a roof over their heads
when so many homeless
don't even have beds | |
