The Religious Vote

October 9. 2008

Barack Obama (Democratic nominee for president)

Today, I watched a rebroadcast of the Saddleback Church "Civil Forum" featuring a Q&A session with 2008 U.S. presidential nominees, Democrat, Barack Obama and Republican, John McCain. Both candidates answered a variety of faith oriented questions submitted by the public.

John McCain (Republican nominee for president)

In watching the broadcast it was evident that John McCain has a greater chance of capturing the Christian vote than Obama, due to the latter's liberal views.

Sarah Palin (Republican running mate)

Obama's liberal views regarding abortion, stem cell research and gay marriage are in contradiction to conservative values. Conservatives make up a very large portion of America and the presidential vote.

Joe Biden (Democratic running mate)

As I stated last year on this website, it would have been beneficial if Obama changed his views in those areas, as it and other issues of that order, would be the deciding criteria for many, that make up a significant portion of the voting population.
