Angelina Jolie Named Most Influential Celeb

Angelina Jolie, star of the forthcoming infringing Sony film Salt, has been named the most influential celebrity in the world, bumping talk show host Oprah Winfrey off the top spot. She was chosen because of her blanket coverage in tabloids and magazines, which is a very poor way to calculate it.

I do believe Jolie and Winfrey, more so the latter, are currently the most influential women in entertainment, but it should be based on a person's output, such as the caliber of the work they do, public response to it and being the recipient of prestigious, meaningful awards. Any entertainment industry press prostitute can gain massive magazine and tabloid coverage *looks at Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan* but it does not spell relevancy or real success.
